Explicit Language Warning

MMA and particulary the UFC has worked hard to turn MMA into a legititmate sport centered around athleticism,rules, and technique. The freak shows always seem to have its place though...in fact, it's kind of at the root of the UFC back when Royce Gracie was tapping out everyone and a 165 lb karate dude knocked out a sumo wrestler.  Hell, only a few years ago, Fedor arm barred 7'2 Korean giant Hung Man Choi (perfect name for an Asian porn star by the way if he wanted to change careers).  

As a purist, I normally don't give a shit for the bullshit freak stuff that's done just to draw viewers, like the midget fighters, legless fighters...and Kimbo Slice.  But you gotta see this guy, because he's actually legit.  Check out the beautfiul heel hook Nick Newell uses to finish Denis Hernandez at XFC 15.

Sick huh?  He tucked the ankle under the side with no forearm and no hand.  Funny how the announcer says that in some ways its gives him an advantage.  Well, yeah I guess it's pretty tough to armbar or kimura that side, but wow.  

This bring Newell's record to 6-0 in pro MMA and he had 153 wrestling wins at the collegiate level.
