Fans in Indianapolis should be ashamed of themselves.  For everything that Peyton Manning has done for the Colts, fans coming to the game sporting Andrew Luck Colts jerseys and holding up signs supporting losing just to get the number 1 pick shows marked disrespect for a man that poured his sweat and tears for a city and a franchise.  I'm sure this, along with the competitve nature that drives a man like Manning, is what's making Manning feel that he must play this year.  He wants to show that he's not done.

I hope he doesn't.  He shouldn't risk his life after a serious neck injury for fans that have already forgotten about him and are ready to move on to the next best thing.

Manning should wait until next year when the Colts realize that even with Manning and a good draft, they're not contenders.  They may be good enough for the playoffs, but they don't have the talent to make it to the Super Bowl.  They'll enter a rebuilding stage and trade away their leader of a decade and a half to a contending team in desperate need of leadership and a QB.  Or perhaps to someone who has a young QB on a team with potential but needs a mentor, say Christian Ponder and the Vikings.  He'll drive a different team deep into the playoffs and show that he hasn't lost his touch.  This is all wishful thinking at this point...

If anything, this year shows how valuable Manning is.  No single player in the NFL has as much of an impact on their team.  With him, the Colts go to the playoffs and Reggie Wayne goes to the Pro Bowl.  Without him, they are worst team in the NFL.

Shame on Indy fans and all the best to a once in a lifetime player and competitor that deserves more.
