Who would have guessed that the "Miami Marlins," the new name for the former Florida Marlins, would be on a spending spree this offseason? They remained silent through the regular season, only making a splash when they fired their manager mid-season and when they sent avid Twitter-er, Logan Morrison, down to the minor leagues despite his solid production.

The season ended just over two weeks ago and they have already been in talks with two of the top three free agents this offseason, Jose Reyes and Albert Pujols. Now, the Marlins are lacking in any real talent, so bringing in some legitimate talent will certainly be a plus. But, let's get this straight: JUST BECAUSE YOU MOVED YOUR TEAM TO MIAMI DOES NOT MAKE YOU THE MIAMI HEAT! Do they want another "Big Three" in Miami because the first one couldn't actually win a championship? (Yes, even in the NBA lockout I can still make fun of the fact that Lebron still does not have a ring)

Hanley Ramirez, an All Star shortstop and the face of the franchise for the past few years, is still with the team, so why go after Jose Reyes? Sure, you can move Han-Ram to third, but that just seems pointless. Why don't you just bring in Pujols and Prince Fielder and stick one of them at second base and create the greatest infield of all-time?

I don't know what they're planning in Miami, but maybe it's just a Miami thing...I think there is a similar attitude in New Jersey.
