AFC East: Chan Gailey and the Bills have surprised everyone, as they are sitting on top of the AFC East. They have been playing opportunistic defense and their offense runs on Fred Jackson. Jackson has been amazing so far and at the humble age of 30, it looks like he has taken his baby steps into elitism. Another surprise is the fact that the Jets are only 4-3. They have had close to zero offense, as their running game is unusually as pathetic as Mark Sanchez. Rex Ryan has continued to put his foot in his mouth and it seems like his fetish has grown with every season. The Patriots are about where we expected with a weak defense and a strong offense. And, I do not have enough respect for that team in Miami to mention anything about them.

AFC North: I expected the Steelers to have a bit of a drop-off, but in the last couple of weeks, they look better than ever. I would like to see if Big Ben can keep up his superb play. The Ravens have been extremely disappointing, as I expected them to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl, but they have been playing porous football as of late. The Bengals are the biggest surprise at 5-2, but they have had maybe the easiest schedule in the league, so do not expect them to hang around for long. The Browns are having another mediocre Browns season, which I guess is better than a normal Browns season. Expect them to stay the same.

AFC South: With the Indianapolis Peyton Manning’s completely out of the picture in the AFC South, the Texans have finally taken control of the division. And that is without Andre Johnson for most of the season. I think this team has a lot of room to grow and could make some noise in the playoffs. The Titans have a running back that is either not trying or has lost three steps. When Javon Ringer may replace you the season after you lead the league in rushing, you have problems. The Titans will continue to flirt with mediocrity. Blaine Gabbert is not the answer at quarterback for the Jaguars and it will probably take them a couple of years to figure that out. Expect the Jaguars to be insignificant for that long. Peyton Manning is the MVP of this season. The fact that the Colts are this bad without him is amazing.

AFC West: The Chargers are continuing their pattern that they cannot win until they are forced to survive. They are not playing well right now, but they will pick it up like they always do and ESPN will talk about how Philip Rivers is such a skilled quarterback again. The Raiders have played well behind their fantastic running attack. I cannot wait to see how Carson Palmer does at the helm of the black and silver. The Chiefs watched their star running back injure what was supposed to be the season, but his replacements have done a great job at keeping them over the .500 mark. The Broncos cannot win with Tebow, but they cannot win with Orton either. Let the Tebow show continue!

NFC East: The New York Giants have been impressive and they will only be getting better, as some of their starters will be returning from injuries. The Eagles have disappointed, but I believe that they have figured it out and will win this division by the end of the season. The Cowboys have also disappointed the dumb people who thought they were a good team (I’m looking at you, Juice). Romo is simply not a winning quarterback. The Redskins looked good in the beginning of the season, but they are starting to remember that they have a combination of Rex Ryan and John Beck at quarterback.

NFC North: The Packers are the best team in the league. There is not much moreto say about this one. The Lions have been very impressive, as they hold a 5-2 record at the moment. Their season rests on whether Matthew Stafford can stay healthy or not. The Bears will never win anything significant because Jay Cutler sucks. Look for them to continue to be average, as Matt Forte is really the only reason for that. The Vikings looked horrible under McNabb, but Christian Ponder has brought some new positive energy around and it looks to be working.

NFC South: The Saints have looked inconsistent lately, but I like them to win this division pretty easily. Darren Sproles has made a huge impact for this already explosive offense. The Buccaneers and Falcons have both been playing at a lower level than last season, but I expect these two teams to go in different directions. The Bucs will continue to not matter in this division along with the Panthers, but I like the Falcons to figure things out and make a run for the division. Cam Newton has been great, but this team had the first overall pick for a reason.

NFC West: All of the buzz is about the 49ers. Behind the running of Frank Gore and their top ranked defense, they have been steam rolling their competition. The rest of this division has been pathetic. The Seahawks have the worst quarterback options in the league, the Cardinals cannot figure out how to get the ball in the hands of Larry Fitzgerald, their only playmaker, and the Rams cannot find the success they found just a year ago.
